JFC Brunssum Hosts Seminar for German Trainee Journalists.

03 Dec; Colonel Martin Klein, Chief Public Affairs Advisor to the Commander Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum, hosted a seminar for 25 German trainee journalists at the Headquarters.
After an introduction focused on NATO's structure, political and military, the primary objective was to educate the young students on the roles and responsibilities of Military Public Affairs. In this, the criticality of establishing and maintaining working relationships, between public affairs offices and news media outlets,based on trust and mutual respect was emphasized. Colonel Klein also provided an insider view on the planning and conduct of a successful media campaign, showcasing recent highlights from Exercise Trident Juncture 2015, the biggest NATO exercise in more than a decade.
The seminar concluded with an opportunity for participants to interview soldiers based in Brunssum in order to transfer theory to practice.
