JFC Brunssum Deputy Commander Visits Poland

The Deputy Commander JFC Brunssum (JFCBS), Lieutenant General Alejandre, visited Warsaw, Poland, 19/20 November 2015. He was accompanied by the JFCBS Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Adamczak, and Assistant Chief of Staff (Plans), Brigadier General Gratrud.
19 Nov; the visiting party met with Lieutenant General Wojtan, the Polish 1st Vice Chief of Defence Staff, and other members of the Polish General Staff with the aim to introduce the new JFCBS Deputy Commander to key personnel of an important member state in JFCBS’ Implementation Area. Amongst other issues the group discussed current operational planning activities, progress with regard to Readiness Action Plan (RAP) deliverables and the path towards next year’s Warsaw Summit as viewed from the operational level of NATO’s military command structure. The fruitful and candid discussions served to demonstrate that Poland is very pleased with the progress achieved thus far in implementing Assurance Measures and the RAP.
20 Nov; Lieutenant General Alejandre joined Exercise COMPACT EAGLE where he met with Lieutenant General Hofmann, Commander Multinational Corps North-East (MNC NE), at the exercise location of the MNC NE Initial Command Element, which was deployed to Warsaw. Issues of mutual interest were discussed and views exchanged on the way ahead for the NATO Force Integration Units and the evolving roles and responsibilities of MNC NE. A visit to the Headquarters of the Polish 16 Division, participating in the exercise, concluded a highly successful trip.
