Ukraine, 23-27 Nov: Joint Force Command Brunssum organised and conducted a Civil / Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Training event in Kiev.  A team of six from JFC Brunssum and two from NATO’s CIMIC Centre of Excellence comprised a highly knowledgeable group of subject matter experts that delivered a comprehensive curriculum.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are developing CIMIC capacities so as to face current challenges in Eastern Ukraine; JFC Brunssum supports this approach and, since 2014, has helped train 250 students.  This Mobile Training Team event was the 4th iteration in 2015; 46 students (officers from Lieutenant to Colonel) attended this course.  Applying the NATO CIMIC doctrinal framework, Ukrainian officers received instruction on how to conduct a broad range of CIMIC activities at both the operational and tactical levels.
