Danish Flag Flying Day Celebrated at JFC Brunssum

Brunssum, the NetherlandsThursday 05 September the annual Danish Flag Flying Day was celebrated with a traditional Danish lunch at JFC Brunssum’s (JFCBS) International Conference Center.

Flanked by soldiers from the Royal Danish Life Guard the Danish Senior National Officer at JFCBS, Brigadier General Hans Christian Enevold, welcomed Danish service members serving in The Netherlands, and at Geilenkirchen Air Base. He also warmly welcomed attending dignitaries, including the Danish Ambassador to The Netherlands, His Excellency Mr Jens-Otto Horslund.

This year was the 10th anniversary of the official flag-flying day for Denmark’s deployed personnel. Guests celebrated with traditional Danish “Smørrebrød”, open-faced sandwiches on buttered dark rye bread. All who attended enjoyed this small privileged insight to Danish culture.
