BRUNSSUM, Netherlands - Next year, on 31st May 2017, the 50th anniversary of a NATO Headquarters located in the Netherlands and hosted by the town of Brunssum, will be celebrated. To mark this milestone a military parade is being planned and, the security situation at the prevailing time permitting, bus tours of the base accompanied by briefings outlining the role and responsibilities of the headquarters now called Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum.

The JFC Brunssum Commander, General Salvatore Farina, and Mayor Luc Winants meet regularly to discuss planning progress and provide direction to the teams working the detail of the event. Both are fully committed to this activity and view the impending milestone as an opportunity to further enhance the already excellent relationship the HQs, and its people, enjoy with their host town.

Formal celebratory activities will be supplemented by a day of sports, music and refreshments centred on the Vijverpark. Details of both events will be published nearer the time.
