Healthy Heart Run at JFC Brunssum

Brunssum, Netherlands - The JFC Fitness Centre hosted a Healthy Heart 5k Fun Run on 15 February to burn off the Valentine’s Day sugary chocolates and extravagant dinners from the night before. Some couples made a date of the run, encouraging their spouse to keep up. One couple was even spotted holding hands during their final up-hill ascent towards the finish line. Gym staff were elated to don hearts on their clothes and welcome the runners, to include JFC Brunssum Commander, General Salvatore Farina.

The first placed man was Ashley Lawes, who came in at 20 minutes 43 seconds. The first placed woman was Helena Slaatmo at 24:42, who also took first woman’s place in last November’s Fun Run. The Fitness Centre is already planning the next running event, which is rumoured to be 10k. Keep training, runners!
