JFC Brunssum Staff Gather to Sample 2019 Beaujolais Nouveau

Brunssum, the Netherlands - On the 21 st November, the world-famous Beaujolais wine, synonymous with celebrations and social occasions, brought together JFC Brunssum staff and guests in an evening full of delightful food and new wines.

The event, organized by the French contingent and led by Brigadier General Jerome Goisque, French Senior National Representative, took place at JFC Brunssum’s International Conference where hundreds of French food lovers tasted the Beaujolais 2019 edition and enjoyed an impressive selection of cheese.

Beaujolais is a wine region in eastern France, located north of Lyon and roughly 50 kilometers from the border with Switzerland. This young wine made from Gamay grapes is a specific bottling that is released every year on the third Thursday of November. In the past, this ‘Beaujolais Nouveau Day’ was accompanied by heavy marketing, with races to get the first bottles to different markets around the globe. The current release practice is to ship the wine ahead of the third Thursday in November and release it to the local market at 12h01 a.m. local time.
