Brunssum, the Netherlands - A military change of command ceremony was held at the International Congress Centre (ICC) in Brunssum. Major General Franz Weidhüner (DEU Air Force), Commander of German Armed Forces Office, handed over responsibility for the German Delegation from Colonel Günter Thiermann (DEU Air Force) to Colonel Thomas Tent (DEU Army).
Many guests, including Lieutenant General Krzysztof Król, Chief of Staff Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), Lieutenant General Carsten Breuer, Commander German Territorial Command, as well as many other distinguished guests honoured the event with their presence.

General Weidhüner reflected on the various duties of command as well on the geographical challenge that this particular command has – from bases in the Netherlands right up to the German contributions of the NATO Force Integration Units in Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and the 3 Baltic states. He ended with a short "Tour d’Horizon” of the more than 40 years of Colonel Thiermann’s service, finishing with a personal compliment to the outgoing Commander on his journey to retirement: "I have known you as an officer who shows strong, dynamic leadership, who sets realistic goals and high standards! You always understood my intent, with the attendant specified and implied tasks, acting competently with limited direction and guidance to deliver successful mission completion. So I always knew that delegation is in good hands!”
After the hand-over of the flag of the German Delegation to Colonel Tent, and a short introduction of the new German Senior National Representative to JFCBS, a reception commenced in the ICC.
