Summer Festival 2024 of the German Community in Brunssum

Brunssum, The Netherlands – The German Delegation, in collaboration with the German Administration Office in the Netherlands and the German section of the AFNORTH International School, celebrated their annual summer festival at the "The Slag Heap" sports complex at Joint Force Command in Brunssum. This occasion marks the end of the school year and indicates the upcoming "Summer Rotation," the significant annual personnel changeover.

The official program was conducted smooth and quick, allowing families and members from the organizing offices and external stations to swiftly transition to the casual part of the day. The atmosphere was vibrant, featuring a delightful barbecue and engaging conversations among guests. Children had a great time on the different bouncy castles, all complemented by ice cream and popcorn stands for added pleasure.

A special highlight this year was the field service of the German Evangelical Military Chaplaincy SHAPE with military chaplain Mr. Scholz. The event was rounded off by the archery lane, which appealed to both young and old. The German Armed Forces Association's wheel of fortune also drew a crowd, contributing to the excitement and entertainment of the event.

Our verdict for 2024: The festival matched and even exceeded the success of the previous years. We can´ t await Summer Festival 2025!
