BOLD VISION: The 2016 Exercise Cycle Begins

Brunssum – Commander Allied Force Command Brunssum, General Hans-Lothar Domröse, welcomed the component commanders assigned to the enhanced NATO Response Force (eNRF) 2016 along with representatives from other levels of NATO command to Bold Vision 2016, a two day exercise held at Headquarters Joint Force Command in Brunssum from 23- 24 February.

Bold Vision is the first part of an ‘exercise cluster’ that takes place in the first half of 2016, as part of our Warsaw Summit deliverables.  General Domröse emphasised the ambitious 2016 exercise plan by saying,  "The overall aim of the training will be to enhance cooperation and interoperability, especially with the enhanced NATO Response Force and Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF).  The VJTF was defined not only in terms of land forces (Land Brigade), but also airborne and naval units – all ready to act 365 days per year.”
As a Commander’s Conceptual Discussion, this meeting leads to a ‘walk-through’ of current operational and training related issues at the beginning of the stand-by period of NRF 16. General (retired) Karl-Heinz Lather, former Chief of Staff Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, supported the discussion as the Senior Mentor by sharing his experiences and giving expert advice.

Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum is one of two operational-level joint military Headquarters in NATO. Leveraging the inherent strength of multinational diversity, our task is to enable military forces to accomplish assigned missions.
