Commander Landcom Visits JFC Brunssum
BRUNSSUM, The Netherlands - General Salvatore Farina, Commander Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum, welcomed Lieutenant General Darryl A. Williams, who recently assumed command of NATO Headquarters Allied Land Command in Izmir, Turkey, for his first visit to NATO's Operational Headquarters in The Netherlands.
In the wake of a number of detailed briefings both Commanders took the chance to exchange thoughts on command guidance and philosophy, focused on strengthening the cohesion of the Alliance through improved working cooperation between the commands with the objective to foster readiness and adaptability of NATO-assigned forces.
Headquarters Allied Land Command is NATO's Single Service Command in the Land Domain. As such, it provides a land-oriented planning capability in support of Higher headquarters and the NATO Force Structure. When directed Landcom is able to provide the core of the headquarters element responsible for the conduct of land operations and the synchronization of land forces command and control in accordance with the Allied Level of Ambition.
