JFC Brunssum Conducts Ceremony for Change of Command Senior Enlisted Leader

The Commander of JFC Brunssum, General Salvatore Farina, presided over a ceremony today marking the change of responsibility for Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) from Canadian Army Chief Warrant Officer Joe Ramsay to Canadian Army Chief Warrant Officer Paul Francis. During the ceremony CWO Ramsay recalled to the audience how challenging the JFCBS mission was and he underlined the role and importance of the NCO community within the headquarters. He also paid a vibrant tribute to the work done by all the support elements and highlighted the successes reached by his fellow NCO peers.

General Farina spoke about the unique role and position of a Command Senior Enlisted Leader within NATO and highlighted all the personal successes met by  CWO Ramsay during his three years as CSEL. General Farina also thanked CWO Ramsay "Chief" for his years of serving NATO in Europe and wished him luck for his return to Canada and for his well-earned retirement along with his family.

Then General Farina warmly welcomed Chief Warrant Officer Francis to take up the gauntlet as the new CSEL for JFC Brunssum, wishing him as much success in the CSEL position as CWO Ramsay had over the past years. CWO Francis, previously Regimental Sergeant Major of the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, spoke about how honoured he was to get the position as CSEL and how happy he was to be here at JFC Brunssum.

The CSEL, a distinguished leadership position within the headquarters structure, is the top enlisted position with a purpose to lead the command's efforts on enlisted development, utilization and engagement.
