JFCBS Hosts Manfred-Wörner Seminar

More than 30 participants and staff members from the Manfred-Wörner Seminar visited Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) to gain a greater understanding of NATO Defence activities.  The group was welcomed by Maj. Gen. Walter Ohm, Deputy Chief of Staff for Support, and received briefings from key staff members about the roles and responsibilities of the headquarters. Among the topics discussed were NATO’s Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan, Assurance Measures in Eastern Europe and the upcoming NATO Summit in Warsaw this summer.

Founded in 1982 by former German Minister of Defence and Secretary General Manfred Wörner, the yearly seminar brings together future leaders from the United States and Germany who work in scientific, economic and political fields to provide insight into institutions like the German Bundeswehr, European Union and NATO in order to foster German-American relations and promote transatlantic solidarity.
