German National Command & General Staff College Visit JFC Brunssum

Brunssum, Netherlands – On 9 February 2017 General Salvatore FARINA, Commander Joint Force Command Brunssum, addressed the German National Command and General Staff College visiting JFC Brunssum.

In his opening remarks, General FARINA emphasized the importance of the continued evolution of all NATO Headquarters such that they remain relevant and sustainable despite the ever changing security situation that surrounds us.

Ninety students from the German National Command and General Staff College took part in this event.  Major General Walter OHM, the Deputy Chief of Staff Support and highest ranking German Officer at JFC Brunssum, stated that NATO is currently working at a high operational tempo.

Amongst other things the Alliance is heavily engaged in Afghanistan, where the Resolute Support mission continues; is committed to its recently established Very high readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) concept; and fully engaged in enhanced NATO Response Force (eNRF) and enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) activities.  "Despite the number of operations the Alliance is doing a great job and is on the right track”, said Major General OHM.
