Baltic Defence College visits Joint Force Command Brunssum

Brunssum, The Netherlands – The Baltic Defence College’s (BALTDEFCOL) faculty members and students of the Joint Command and General Staff Course (JCGSC) 2017/2018 visited Headquarters JFC Brunssum 17 May 2018 to gain deeper understanding with the role, responsibilities, planning processes and current challenges that the headquarters faces.

The Baltic Defence College runs several courses a year, the Joint Command and General Staff Course being the core activity. The course is designed to educate officers to perform effectively in a joint and multinational environment. The curriculum includes the International Study Trip to different NATO HQs and Commands across Europe as an important educational module.

The Commander, General Riccardo Marchio, personally welcomed the students and his staff provided briefings on the roles and responsibilities of the JFC Brunssum, the current political challenges facing NATO, the NATO Operational Planning Process, and a summary of the Enhanced Forward Presence Battle Groups.
