During his visit General Houdet met with members of the French delegation serving at JFCBS and received a number of briefings underscoring the French contribution to JFC Brunssum’s main focus areas.
National Military Representatives (NMRs) assist with information exchange, liaison and co-ordination between Alliance nations and the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) / Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE). NMRs represent their nations, or are part of their nation's representation at SHAPE exercises, conferences and other major activities. NMRs are directly subordinate to their respective Chiefs of Defence.
Within the NATO Command Structure SHAPE has, for some time, been re-named Allied Command Operations however, for legal reasons, the SHAPE name / acronym remain in use.
