JFC Brunssum Hosts Visit by French Military Representative to NATO
Brunssum, the Netherlands - General Riccardo Marchiò, Commander Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Brunssum, hosted Vice Admiral Eric Chaperon, the French military representative to NATO and the European Union, to the Headquarters yesterday.
During the visit, amongst other issues, a number of activities JFC Brunssum is currently involved in were discussed; of particular interest was the Headquarters' role in the ongoing adaptation of NATO. This effort is aimed at increasing operational readiness and mobility throughout the NATO Command and Force Structures.
Vice Admiral Chaperon also received an update on NATO's enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) initiative in Northern Europe. The continued positive reception of eFP across the Alliance, showcased by the willingness of nations to contribute troops to this effort, was underscored. For his part, Vice Admiral Chaperon reiterated that France remains committed to this collective effort.
