Brunssum, the Netherlands - From 15 to 19 October a team from JFC Brunssum (JFCBS) conducted an Expert Team Visit to Tbilisi, Georgia, on the subject of Logistics in NATO. 

 

Over three days the team, comprising Lieutenant Colonel Dominique Louis and Major Michel Saeys (from JFCBS’ Logistics Directorate), and Lieutenant Commander Michelle Ward (from JFCBS’ Military Partnership Branch), provided a number of briefings at the 4th Mechanised Brigade HQs, a short distance from the Georgian capital.  A number of Georgian armed forces logistics officers and National Guard logistics officers attended the training.  A variety of topics were covered including: the principles of strategic deployment; the importance of Host Nation Support (HNS); and the utility of a Joint Logistics Support Group (JLSG).   

 

The training team was very well received in Georgia, a country that contributes significant numbers of troops to NATO’s Resolute Support mission, in Afghanistan.  Participants were enthusiastic and engaged, and demonstrated the renowned Georgian hospitality.  This was the final training event to be conducted by JFCBS in Georgia this year.
