Brunssum, the Netherlands – Tuesday 1^st October, Colonel Edwin Altena handed command of the Base Support Group at JFC Brunssum (JFCBS) to his successor, Captain Henk Zwier, Royal Netherlands Navy.

In his remarks, Lieutenant General Stuart Skeates CBE (Deputy Commander JFCBS) thanked Colonel Altena for his outstanding contribution, described him as professional and dedicated, and highlighted his excellent initiatives that have extended into the local community.

In response, Colonel Altena expressed his sincere thanks for the support he had received from the Command Group and his immediate Line Manager, the proactive dedication of his Staff and, very importantly, the understanding of his wife.  He stated he would always have fond memories of his time as Commander of JFCBS’ Base Support Group.

Captain Zwier thanked Colonel Altena for his hard work and stated he felt it an honour to be his successor.
