Brunssum, the Netherlands - Commander JFC Brunssum, General Erhard Bühler, conducted a short round-trip through the north-eastern part of his area of responsibility 10-12 July to build relationships, enhance understanding of extant issues, and increase situational awareness.
General Bühler started (10 July) in Stavanger, Norway, where he attended the Change of Command Ceremony of the Joint Warfare Centre. German Navy Rear Admiral Jan C. Kaack assumed command from Polish Major General Andrzej Reudowicz.

11 July the General attended the Change of Command Ceremony at Bydgoszcz, Poland, witnessing the Hand-over Take-over from German Major General Wilhelm Grün to his Polish successor Major General Adam Joks at NATO’s prestigious Joint Force Training Centre. Both ceremonies were presided over by the French Air Force General André Lanata, the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, based in Norfolk, Virginia (USA).
Meeting these distinguished high-level NATO military commanders provided a unique opportunity to exchange views and thoughts on the constantly changing and demanding security environment that surrounds us today.General Bühler completed his trip with a call on the Multinational Corps North-East (MNCNE), in Szczecin (Poland) - a key element of the enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) command and control structure on NATO’s north-eastern flank.
Note: MNCNE is tasked to plan and prepare for collective defence activities under Article V of the North Atlantic Treaty and to contribute with its Headquarters within the framework of the United Nations, the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, or regional arrangements pursuant to Chapter VIII of the Charter of the United Nations, to multinational crisis management operations including peace support operations. MNCNE is also tasked to plan, prepare and conduct humanitarian and rescue missions, including natural disaster relief missions, upon request.
