Director of Host Country Affairs Visits JFC Brunssum
Brunssum, the Netherlands – yesterday, JFC Brunssum (JFCBS)
was delighted to host a visit by Mrs P Grotenhuis, Director of Protocol
& Host Country Affairs Department, of the Netherlands Ministry of
Foreign Affairs (MoFA). This initial trip to the HQs was an opportunity for Mrs
Grotenhuis to gain comprehension of the roles and responsibilities of JFCBS and
further deepen the excellent relationship that exists between us, our host
town, host province and host government.
JFC Brunssum is one of the oldest international entities
established in the Netherlands and, taken together with other NATO formations
hosted by the country, constitutes the largest in terms of personnel. When the
HQs first came to the Netherlands, in 1967, the government granted JFCBS a
package of privileges and immunities to enable it to perform its tasks. Over the
years since then MoFA has always remained an outstanding ally within the Netherlands'
