German Forces Centre of Excellence for Aviation and Space Medicine visit

Brunssum, the Netherlands – Wednesday 4th September a group from the German Forces Centre of Excellence for Aviation and Space Medicine, in Cologne, visited Headquarters Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS). This centre is a department of the German Air Force focused, specialised and responsible for all facets of aviation in air and space for the German Armed Forces, including research and development around the human-machine interface now and into the nearer future.

The group visited NATO’s Strategic military Headquarters, Allied Command Operation in Mons, Belgium, beforehand and were very much interested in gaining further insight to the operational perspective of NATO’s military arm and, in particular, the role and responsibilities of JFCBS.

Amongst others, topics briefed included: The Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan, the enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroups in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, NATO's successful adaptation to a changing security environment, NATO’s Military Partnership Programmes and the role of JFC Brunssum within the NATO Command Structure.
