Brunssum, the Netherlands – The German National Command and General Staff College visited Headquarters JFC Brunssum today to familiarise its students with the role, responsibilities, planning processes and current challenges, that confront this operational-level NATO military headquarters.
The Staff College delegation, with students from Belgium, Canada, Estonia, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States, was welcomed by the headquarters’ new Commander, General Erhard Bühler.
Following insightful opening remarks the General participated in an hour-long Question & Answer session that afforded students the opportunity to delve deeper into issues raised. Recalling his own time at the Hamburg-based College, General Bühler emphasised that the students should grasp this opportunity to learn about "NATO’s operational perspective and, in particular, JFC Brunssum’ s challenges and contribution to continued NATO evolution and adaptation.”
