International Committee of Red Cross Participates in Talks at JFC Brunssum

Brunssum, the Netherlands – Tuesday 26 November, General Erhard Bühler, Commander JFC Brunssum (JFCBS), welcomed the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) - Brussels Delegation to NATO, the EU and the Kingdom of Belgium - Mr Walter Fuellemann, to the headquarters for a day of talks.              

General Bühler and Mr Fuellemann discussed a wide range of topics covering the long-standing ICRC / JFCBS relationship. A dialogue of operational topics of mutual importance ensued including issues such as the protection of civilians, and areas of possible future cooperation. Mr Fuellemann conducted separate talks with the Deputy Commander, Lieutenant General Stuart Skeates, CBE, and the Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General de Reviers de Mauny. To conclude, Mr Fuellemann and his delegation participated in a round-table discussion chaired by the Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans, Major General Karl Ford, with staff from across the headquarters. In the words of Major General Ford, “this relationship between JFC Brunssum and the ICRC is based on trust and mutual understanding.”
