New Commander at JFC Brunssum


Brunssum, the Netherlands – Today, General Erhard Bühler of the German Federal Armed Forces, assumed command of JFC Brunssum. In his remarks the General praised his predecessor for his outstanding leadership, especially as he presided over a period of significant change within NATO, and wished him a well-earned retirement after 44 years of service in the Italian Armed Forces.
"In my eyes you have done an outstanding job as Commander of Allied Joint force Command Brunssum (…), I am honoured to accept your legacy as a gift but also as a challenge”, General Erhard Bühler said.
 
Looking to the future General Bühler stressed that he was delighted to be part of the NATO team again and that he will continue to maintain the great reputation and the team spirit he has experienced during the recent weeks. 
 
In concluding his remarks General Bühler stressed how he feels about have been given such an opportunity. ‘I am deeply honoured to have been selected by my national authorities (…) to become the commander of this important NATO Headquarters in Brunssum, that has contributed to the success of our great alliance for more than 50 years.’ He said.
