JFC Brunssum Sends Expert Planning Team to Ireland

Brunssum, the Netherlands – Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum’s Military Partnership Branch and Planning Division combined to conduct an Expert Team Visit (ETV) to the Irish Military College Command & Staff School, at Camp Curragh, Ireland, from 03 to 08 February.  The main objective of the visit was to provide an introduction to the way in which comprehensive operations are planned at the Joint level within NATO using the NATO Operations Planning Process.

This Military Outreach and Engagement activity was planned, prepared and executed by JFC Brunssum’s Military Partnership Branch in cooperation with the Irish Military College Command & Staff School.  In May 2019 the class will participate in a Joint Planning Exercise together with other Senior Staff Courses from both NATO and non-NATO member countries.

The JFC Brunssum delegation conducted lectures covering the NATO Operations Planning Process in Crisis Response Operations.  The programme included classroom discussions, syndicate work and presentations for the benefit of 22 Senior Staff Course students drawn from the Irish Armed Forces and two international students, one from the USA and one from Germany.
