King's Day Reception 2019

Brunssum, the Netherlands - On the evening of Thursday 25 April the Netherlands contingent of JFC Brunssum hosted their annual King’s Day (KDR19) celebrations in the headquarters’ International Conference Centre.  This year’s theme was to emphasize the traditional Orange colour related to our Royal Family. Therefore the hallway, main area and stage were predominately colored in Orange with some traditional National symbols like tulips and a cow.

In their welcome address both Senior National Officers, Brig-Gen van der Voet (ACOS J2) and Brig-Gen Bouman (ACOS J4), explained the role of the Royal Family within the Netherlands society, the way it unifies the people of the Netherlands and  provides the typical Orange identity to the people.
The Moral & Welfare of the Netherlands Armed Forces supported the KDR19 again with a DJ and Live band named "Club Soda”, their playlist motivated people to use the dance floor which was occupied till the end of KDR19.

Due to a lot of positive feedback on KDR18, which resulted in the tickets for this year’s event being "sold out” within 3 days, approximately 750 people joined in the celebration of the KDR19.

In summary, the Ball was a great success that has already attracted a myriad of thankful and congratulatory comments.  Many thanks to the JFC Brunssum Netherlands contingent for, once again, staging such a generous, thoughtful and delightful event.
