NATO Military Committee Chairman Visits JFC Brunssum
Mar 11, 2019
Brunssum, the Netherlands – Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, visited JFCBS Brunssum Friday 8th March to engage with the Headquarters’ Command Team.
High on the agenda was the support JFC Brunssum provides to the Resolute Support mission, in Afghanistan, and the continued development of enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) joint capabilities, deployed to deter threats to the Alliance and its member states on NATO’s north-eastern flank.
The ability of a Joint Operational HQs to fight at scale is essential to the collective defense and assurance of the Alliance. To ensure this continued capability the Trident Jupiter exercises, commencing towards the end of this year, are designed to ensure JFC Brunssum’s personnel maintain the high level skill-sets required. Via continuous training NATO ensures its military forces, commanded by Supreme Allied Commander Europe, are well trained, equipped, interoperable and committed to the defence of the Alliance.
The Alliance has a long history of successful military strategy. Allied Command Operations’ exercises maintain our preparedness to defend ourselves and provide opportunities to train for the challenges we might face in the future.
