Students Visit JFC Brunssum

Brunssum, the Netherlands – Wednesday 31 July JFC Brunssum (JFCBS) was pleased to host a group of students from the German Jakob-Kaiser-Stiftung from Cologne, Germany.

The students, studying a curriculum comprising political science, international law and administration, used the opportunity to acquaint themselves with NATO and, in particular, the role and responsibilities of JFCBS.

Amongst others, topics briefed included: the enhanced Forward Presence in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland; the changing security environment; why (at 70 years of age) NATO is as vital to global security as ever; NATO’s Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan; and the role of JFC Brunssum within the NATO Command Structure.  Following these briefings a question and answer session was conducted to complete the programme.

The visit proved hugely successful and has laid a solid foundation for further cooperation into the future.
