Brunssum, the Netherlands – Thursday 11 July JFC Brunssum was pleased to host a visit of undergraduate students from the York College of Pennsylvania, USA.
The students, studying a curriculum comprising political science, national security and intelligence studies, enjoyed a day at Brunssum as part of a broader field trip to Europe embracing briefings at NATO HQs, SHAPE and other locations, notably the NATO Airbase at Geilenkirchen. A packed briefing agenda, inter alia, included topics such as Strategic Communications, Military Public Affairs, NATO @ 70 and the roles and responsibilities of JFC Brunssum. The day completed with a lively panel discussion where students utilised the opportunity to ask a number of insightful questions.
Led by a former member of the JFC Brunssum staff, Dr John Weaver - Assistant Professor & Programme Coordinator, Department of History & Political Science, at York College – the visit proved hugely successful and has laid a solid foundation for further cooperation into the future.
