virtual meeting with ICELAND DIRECTOR FOR SECURITY AND DEFENCE

Brunssum, the Netherlands – The Icelandic Director for Security and Defence, Mr Arnor Sigorjonsson, participated in a meeting - Monday 21st September – with JFC Brunssum’s Commander, General Jörg Vollmer, to resume dialogue relating to the coordination of shared security objectives NATO shares with Iceland.

Discussion focused on operational matters of mutual interest ensuring continuity of long lasting cooperation.

Due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19, the meeting was conducted via means of video teleconference. NATO aims to maintain constant operational readiness, especially in uncertain times such as those we find ourselves in at present, and will continue to operate effectively in spite of the presence of the ongoing pandemic.
