Commander JFC Brunssum and STRIKE FORCE NATO in virtual meeting

 

Brunssum, the Netherlands - On Tuesday 2nd June, General Jörg Vollmer, Commander Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), conducted a virtual meeting with Vice Admiral Lisa Franchetti, Commander Strike Force NATO (SFN).

In light of the ongoing travel restrictions, virtual meetings have become common place in order to continue to deliver operational output. General Vollmer and Vice Admiral Franchetti had a productive meeting discussing a range of topics. One of the main topics discussed was Baltic Operations 2020 (BALTOPS). This exercise is the premier maritime-focused exercise within the Baltic Region and is scheduled to take place June 7-16. Multiple maritime and air assets from 17 NATO and 2 partner nations will participate in the live training events. Co-operation between SFN and NATO’s Maritime Command (MARCOM) will be essential and key to the success of the exercise. Other discussions between the Commanders included co-operative and combined support to NATO advanced planning and integration of US Forces within NATO

Despite the ongoing Worldwide Pandemic, NATO continues to support its vital missions and exercises in order to maintain high readiness levels to deter and defend.
