Commander JFC Brunssum Participates in Riga Security Conference

Brunssum, The Netherlands – On the evening of 12 November, General Jörg Vollmer - Commander Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) – virtually attended the Riga (Latvia) Security Conference. This annual event is in its 15th year and connects more than 500 participants from multiple nations. This year discussion topics included NATO issues on both sides of the Atlantic, the potential security consequences brought about by COVID-19, post-pandemic global order and EU resilience in crisis.

General Vollmer was invited to speak at the conference as part of a panel discussion on the ‘Speed of Assistance: Movement of Critical Inventory During COVID-19’. This discussion was particularly relevant as military mobility and national infrastructure are vital during times of crisis. General Vollmer commented;

The build-up of our forces will happen in peace time. Therefore we, all nations, must have a clear understanding of our own infrastructure.
