JFC Brunssum and ACT Norfolk Commanders conduct virtual meeting

Brunssum, the Netherlands, on Monday 06th July, General Jörg Vollmer, Commander Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), and General André Lanata, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, conducted a virtual meeting.

The Commanders discussed several topics with General Lanata important to both commanders. Each discussed the issues related to the importance of the management and the distribution of lessons learned, the development of new technologies, the necessity for improved unit and individual training during exercises, and most importantly the focused effort to advance NATOs development of doctrine looking to NATOs capability and role in the future. Both General Vollmer and General Lanata recognise the importance of close co-ordination, specifically between staffs, as they work to improve communication and co-ordination of activities within and between the commands.

Overall, the engagement was extremely positive and helped to solidify the two Commanders’ relationship to continue efforts to improve NATO’s co-ordinated deterrence and defence within their Areas of Operations and the wider NATO theatre.
