JFC Brunssum Conducts Outreach Event in Uzbekistan
Brunssum, the Netherlands - A team of legal experts from JFC Brunssum visited the Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the nation’s capital city, Tashkent, between the 2nd and 6th of March to share their knowledge of operational law and legal processes in NATO.
Officers from the Uzbek Armed Forces received classroom briefings about topics that included amongst others, the Law of Armed Conflict, Rules of Engagement, and Targeting. Students then consolidated their learning by working in syndicates and applying what they had been taught to a fictional exercise scenario.
Such visits to NATO’s partner nations are part of JFC Brunssum’s contribution to cooperative security which, since the Lisbon Summit in 2010, has been one of NATO’s three core tasks.
