JFC Brunssum Prepares for Second Phase of Exercise Trident Jupiter 19 with Battle Staff Training

Brunssum, The Netherlands – Monday 10th to Friday 21st February, JFC Brunssum (JFCBS) staff conducted an internal Battle Staff Training (BST) in preparation for the upcoming Trident Jupiter (TRJU) 19-2 exercise which will take place in March this year. The TRJU19 exercise involves two linked exercises ranging from Small to Major Joint Operations Plus.

The first part, TRJU19-1, was concluded last November, and trained the NATO Response Force 2020 force package at Small Joint Operations scale. The second part, TRJU19-2, will train participants within a Major Joint Operation Plus Command and Control construct at scale in order to evaluate and certify JFC Brunssum as a Joint Task Force HQ.

Both exercises are Article V, high-intensity operations against a peer adversary contesting NATO in all warfare domains. BST serves as an excellent tool to build on teamwork and to prepare to train as we fight.
