JFC Brunssum Commander, General Jörg Vollmer, spoke at the 16th annual LANDCOM-led Corps Commanders Conference (LC3) at the Multinational Corps North East HQ (MNC NE) in Szczecin.
This conference will give us a chance to further discuss and develop our concept of deterrence and defense of the Alliance. I was very proud that, in the time of the COVID-19 crisis, on one hand we helped to protect our people and, on the other, we continued with our defense. During this whole time, we were capable to provide for the four enhanced Forward Presence battlegroups in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, and we continued with our Air Policing mission throughout.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the scheduled conference was not able to take place physically, as had been originally planned, but was primarily conducted via video teleconference.

The LC3 is a vital tool in NATO’s arsenal to continually familiarise, educate, train, and maintain operational readiness. Ongoing coordination between all levels of command is vital for the continuation of sustained protection that NATO implements and assures.
