Despite the global pandemic General Jörg Vollmer (JFC Brunssum Commander) and Ms Wilma van der Rijt (Mayor of Brunssum) met officially for the first time, yesterday. Strict observance was paid to physical distancing measures. Broad discussion ensued as the two leaders set about getting to know each other however, both declared, their robust intent to continue the good work of their predecessors and, especially, ensure every effort is made to better integrate the staff and families of JFC Brunssum with its host town.

When COVID-19 restrictions are sufficiently eased General Vollmer declared his intent to invite the Mayor, and her staff, to JFC Brunssum so that she can be better informed with regard to the activities of the headquarters. Mayor van der Rijt responded she looked forward to such an invitation.
