Amongst the topics discussed was NATO's engagement in the region, especially the vital role of enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup in the Eastern flank of Europe.
During
the meeting with the Lithuanian Chief of Defence, Lieutenant General Valdemaras
Rupšys, General Vollmer stressed JFCBS’s role and responsibilities and
discussed Lithuanias important contribution to the Northern part of NATO’s
implementation area. Vollmer gave thanks for hosting the German-led #eFP
Battlegroup in Rukla.
Our commitment is to deter and we do it together. This is a very strong signal that we are taking deterrence and the preparation for defence very seriously. It is very important for the whole region and Europe", the Commander highlighted.
