Today Exercise Brilliant Jump 20 II, conducted in Lithuania, came to an end. This draws to a close months of planning that, by any measure, led to a highly successful demonstration of readiness and operational capability by NATO’s Very high readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF).
Deployed troops were joined by JFC Brunssum Commander, General Jörg Vollmer, as well as the Lithuanian Minister of Defence, Mr Raimundas Karoblis, and the Commander of NATO’s VJTF, Brigadier General Dariusz Lewandowski, 03 November. General Vollmer spoke to exercise participants and congratulated them on a job well done, stating:
You have shown that we are able to deploy our forces
Practical demonstrations of VJTF deployability are a critical element of the Alliance’s deterrence, defence and assurance posture.
