Battle Staff Training Concludes at JFC Brunssum

Brunssum, The Netherlands – Exercise Steadfast Jupiter (STJU21) battle staff training concluded at Joint Force Command (JFC) Brunssum.

Over the past eight days, the headquarters' staff trained intensively to prepare for participation in the main body of STJU21 – which will commence on 19 October.

We achieved our main goal to get every newcomer on board, trained and ready!

The training was designed to ensure that staff members have a broad understanding of the deterrent effect that integrated and well-trained NATO forces are able to project. In parallel, the objective of injecting tasks based upon a complex and evolving crisis scenario served to develop an intimate understanding of the inner workings of the NATO Structures, and how forces can be concurrently employed across multiple domains.

The Alliance's military exercise programme allows for a critical examination of current processes and emerging capabilities to ensure NATO is ready to cope with any security threat.

Exercises such as STJU21 are conducted to ensure NATO remains at high levels of readiness, interoperability and capability.
