Commander JFCBS visits Polish SOCC

Brunssum, the Netherlands - Commander JFC Brunssum, General Jӧrg Vollmer, visited the Polish Special Operations Forces Component Command (SOCC) based in Kraków, Poland, 11/12 May.

Special Forces are well-trained soldiers able to conduct high-risk missions under the most difficult conditions.  During his visit, General Vollmer used the opportunity to discuss further cooperation with regard to training and exercises.  Other topics touched upon included deterrence and defence.

The SOCC will be part of the NATO Response Force (NRF) 2022 next year.  The NRF is a highly ready and technologically advanced, multinational force made up of Land, Air, Maritime and Special Operations Forces components that the Alliance can deploy quickly, wherever needed.  In addition to its operational role, the NRF can be used for greater cooperation in education and training, enhanced exercise opportunities and act as a conduit enabling better use of technology
