Netherlands Chief of Defence Visits JFC Brunssum

Brunssum, The Netherlands – 02 November General Jӧrg Vollmer, Commander Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), welcomed the Netherlands Chief of Defence (CHOD), General Onno Eichelsheim, to the Headquarters.

Meetings such as this are vital if we are to ensure a coherent and stable command structure

Amongst other serials, the programme allowed General Eichelsheim to participate in a round table discussion with General Vollmer and other senior JFCBS staff members. A broad range of topics were discussed, notably including Command and Control (C2) relationships between NATO and national forces. Addressing this issue General Vollmer stressed the need for good Command relationships, stating: "Meetings such as this are vital if we are to ensure a coherent and stable command structure."

The visit was one of particular significance as it served to reinforce the importance of sustained dialogue and cooperation between one of NATO's most important military headquarters and The Netherlands' government. In this regard, General Vollmer expressed his appreciation to his visitor for the outstanding support provided to JFCBS by its host nation.

Before his departure, General Eichelsheim took the opportunity to meet with Dutch personnel working within JFBCS in order to thank them for their ongoing contribution to the headquarters and NATO as a whole.
