This is not an EXERCISE

Brunssum, the Netherlands - STEADFAST COBALT 2021, Commander JFCBS, Jörg Vollmer, visits NATO’s largest Communications and Information System exercise.

STEADFAST COBALT is an important annual exercise that kick-starts NATO Response Force (NRF) preparation activities

mentioned General Vollmer. STEADFAST COBALT validates Communications and Information System connectivity and interoperability among participating NRF units.

“Our aim is to improve readiness and to increase speed by ensuring that all contributing units are capable and prepared to deploy Communications and Information System in support of NRF Missions”, finalized General Vollmer.

With STEADFAST COBALT 21, NATO looks to the future and continues to adapt in order to meet the challenges of today through improving combat readiness and responsiveness even during a pandemic like COVID-19.

“We take COVID-19 as a challenge and will work to ensure this exercise is a success, based on less meetings, with more flexibility. At the end this is not an exercise”, stated Brigadier General Hans Folmer, Deputy Commander NATO CIS Group, finally.
