ITALIAN FIGHTERS SUPPORT EXERCISE FURIOUS WOLF
Two Eurofighters, together with supporting personnel, have been deployed by the Italian Air Force to Šiauliai, Lithuania, to fly Air-Land Integration missions in support of a NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup training exercise. Exercise Furious Wolf provides an excellent opportunity to improve cooperation between NATO countries. The aim of NATO and Allied exercises is to increase the readiness and agility of forces.
SLOVAK AIR FORCE REACH 15-YEAR MILESTONE OF SERVICE TO NATO
After Slovakia joined NATO in March 2004, the country became part of the then NATO Integrated Air Defence System, in 2006. Since that time the Slovak Air Force has been firmly embedded with their MiG-29 fighter aircraft in the Alliance's ongoing Air Policing mission. The Slovak MiG-29s are predominantly scrambled to intercept civilian airliners, for example, when pilots lose radio communications with civilian Air Traffic Control or declare emergencies.
JOINT FORCE TRAINING CENTRE (JFTC) OPENS DOORS FOR HEADQUARTERS MULTINATIONAL CORPS NORTHEAST (HQ MNC NE)
The Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC) are hosting Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE) personnel as they conduct Exercise Griffin Lightning 21. Elements of the Corps, from Szczecin, Poland, deployed to Bydgoszcz to test its capabilities in a simulated defence exercise. The exercise aims to improve HQ MNC NE's readiness to execute full-spectrum military operations in a complicated and challenging regional environment. The event concludes 12 March.
