Commander EUROCORPS visits JFC BRUNSSUM

Brunssum, The Netherlands – On Monday 24 January, Commander Eurocorps, Lieutenant General Peter Devogelaere, was welcomed by General Jörg Vollmer, Commander Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), for a day of discussions centred on topics relevant to the both Headquarters.
Successful deterrence is based on a good and credible plan

The visit, aiming on better understanding JFCBS processes and procedures, provided an opportunity to foster common understanding of current challenges and developments. 

_nato4 Outlining JFCBS role as the Nexus to link and coordinate all activities in the region, topics discussed included: NATO's concept of Deterrence and Defence; NATO's readiness and posture in the region; Military capabilities; advanced operational planning; training and exercises as well as the importance of sustained synchronisation amongst the different Headquarters.

During these discussions, General Vollmer highlighted JFC Brunssum's contribution to NATOs core tasks, especially during its current duty as the stand-by Headquarters for the lead of the NATO Response Force (NRF) 22. Therefore he stated that, "Successful deterrence is based on a good and credible plan."
