JFC Brunssum hosts Operational Commanders Conference

Brunssum, The Netherlands – General Jörg Vollmer, Commander of Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) hosted his Operational Commanders' Conference in the Headquarters on Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 May.

Once more, it demonstrates our collective unity, readiness and determination to protect NATO's north-eastern flank

Discussions took place based on detailed back briefs from JFCBS' subordinate commanders, in order to better align tactical plans and understanding of issues of common regional interest. Participants discussed ways to improve the coordination of NATO's enhanced vigilance activities in response to Russian aggression.

In his role as the Operational Commander coordinating all activities in the region, General Vollmer stressed that close coordination at the operational level makes all stakeholders more effective. "Once more, it demonstrates our collective unity, readiness and determination to protect NATO's north-eastern flank", said the General.

JFCBS is one of three operational-level headquarters in NATO, together with JFC Naples (Italy) and JFC Norfolk (United States). JFCBS plans, executes and supports military operations within its assigned missions and tasks to deter and defend against all threats across all domains, in order to preserve the freedom, security, national sovereignty and peace of NATO Members and Partner Nations.
