JFCBS Military Training Team visit to Almaty, Kazakhstan

Almaty, Kazakhstan – A NATO Mobile Training Team (MTT) travelled to the Armed Services Medicine Centre of Kazakhstan in Almaty to provide training to the Kazakh Armed Forces from 13-16 June.

During the visit, experts on Military Medicine from Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) delivered presentations to an audience of ten Medical Officers of various specialisations from the Kazakh Armed Forces. Topics covered included Military Medical Planning, Medical Intelligence and Force Health Protection at the Operational level.

After the presentations, students tested their knowledge in practical exercises based around a medical response to a crisis in a fictional country. The students were required to come up with a medical intelligence briefing to the mission commander, including recommendations for the creation of a Force Health Protection policy.

Kazakhstan is a member of the NATO Partnership for Peace (PfP) programme and the course was conducted as part of routine PfP cooperation between Kazakhstan and NATO.
