Top German Cyber Defence Official Meets with NATO Leaders at Headquarters Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum

Brunssum, The Netherlands – In a pivotal meeting held on 7 November at Headquarters Joint Force Command Brunssum, Lieutenant General Michael Vetter, Director General for Cyber and Information Technology at German Ministry of Defence, met with General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, Commander Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum, to discuss crucial matters concerning military cyberspace efforts.

Lieutenant General Vetter’s visit started with a warm welcome at the Headquarters and an in-depth office call with General Miglietta. The discussions were marked by a roundtable session attended by General Miglietta, and other Senior Leaders. In their discussions, they delved into the military cyberspace initiatives undertaken by both Germany and NATO. _nato4
General Miglietta emphasized the vital role of Germany's contributions to HQ operations and highlighted NATO's international commitments in the realm of cyberspace. He remarked, "Germany's security, including the security of its cyberspace, is key to defend the Alliance." General Miglietta's statement underscores the critical importance of Germany's efforts in safeguarding not only its own cyberspace but also bolstering the security of the entire NATO Alliance.

Additionally, Lieutenant General Vetter shared his insights during the discussions, providing valuable perspectives on Germany's initiatives and support for Alliance cyberspace. He added, "Collaborative efforts and international cooperation are essential in addressing the evolving challenges in the cyber and information domain. Germany remains committed to contributing significantly to NATO's cyber defense strategies."

The Director General also took the opportunity to meet with German staff members, engaging in further discussions to enhance Germany's support to Alliance cyberspace initiatives. This high-level exchange of ideas and strategies underscores the dedication of both Germany and NATO in strengthening cyberspace security, a critical aspect of modern defense operations.
