Ambassador and Military Representative to NATO of our Host Nation visits JFC Brunssum

Brunssum, The Netherlands – Ambassador Thijs van der Plas, Permanent Representative to NATO, and Military Representative to NATO Lieutenant General Dick van Ingen both from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, visited Headquarters Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), on 24th November 2023.

Hosted by JFCBS Commander, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, both distinguished guests received the latest information on our mission, as it relates to the various security threats and challenges the Alliance currently faces. After the hosted lunch, the visitors had a ‘meet and greet’ with Dutch staff stationed on the Brunssum base.

“After the briefings I’m more than confident that Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum is able to ensure NATO’s deterrence and defence at the operational level,” said Ambassador Van der Plas. “Particularly as JFCBS implements its new regional defence plan and continues to evolve to meet future challenges.”

“We are very honoured that Ambassador Van der Plas and Lieutenant General Van Ingen have taken their valuable time to visit us in here in Brunssum today,” said General Miglietta. “At this critical time in the world, it is more important than ever that NATO and our loyal host nation work together to deter aggression and maintain security across NATO territory.”
